"The most intriguing message that Ed received cam on the Ace of Clubs. It read "say a prayer at the stones of home." The reason this message is more grabbing than any of the others which have either been addresses and times or names this message contains a riddle, a puzzle that must be worked out to know where it is leading, by adding this extra question the message becomes more of a mystery, and to me a mystery needs solving. I'm captivated most by this message because I love problem solving and riddles as many people do." (Justice Wilson)

The message that caught my attention the most would have to be the bare foot girl, from the Ace of Diamonds. Not only was it one of the first messages Ed received, but I believe it was also one of the more unique ones too. Compared to other messages, this was more of a thoughtful one. Don't get me wrong, I mean they were all extremely thoughtful and kind of him, although this one didn't take much to help the girl out. It wasn't like Ed had to go spend $100 or more to help Sophie. All he had to do was simply hand her an empty shoe box, and the message got across. Now when she runs, whether its her races or just taking a jog early in the morning, shes happier and smiling more compared to before. She just needed help realizing how to do that, and with Ed's box of air, she accomplished that. It just goes to show that actions really do speak louder than words.

The first message seemed to be the most significant to the story because it set the story line for the book. It was through the chapters that surrounded the first message that we discover who Ed is and the life that surrounds him. More specifically, I was taken in by the story line with the man who was abusive to his family. It was interesting to read about and discover how Ed deals with the task of shooting this person. Even though he doesn't end up shooting him in the end, his thought process leading up to the gun firing helps shape Ed's character. The first message stands out and is the most memorable for me as it sets the plot line for the story. Additionally, I enjoyed reading about the three tasks given to Ed as I found them suspenseful, comical, and endearing.

I found the Joker most intriguing because it brought all of the other messages into one. All of the cards that Ed received were really just pieces of a bigger puzzle. Each one of them was a different message in itself, but built together created one over-arching theme. The joker showed us that Ed was the message; anyone can do what he did. He was just a regular nineteen year old boy, who changed the lives of many people by committing small thoughtful gestures.
